Easter Vigil
On April 2, 2013 by LoriLight.
It’s been a peaceful Lenten season for this Catholic girl…by far my favorite moment was on Holy Saturday. All the cousins, aunts and uncles attended Easter Vigil in the mountains. The church we attended “lit up the night” so beautifully as we all came together sharing light with one another and became “one”.
The church backlit the outdoor part of the mountain with a light purple hue shining down on white Catholic statues…it was witnessed through their large walls made of clear glass. It was breathtaking. As the choir sung and our prayers shared, we all stood in awe…even the little ones. It was a slice of heaven.
We then awoke to yet another gift on the holiest of days. This beautiful sunrise combined with the prior evening night of prayers provided quiet moments of reflection and beauty. My heart and soul are yet again renewed.
I too wish for you some quiet time for reflection and peace. It is a new day.
“For me prayer is a surge of the heart. It is a simple look towards Heaven, it is a cry of recognition and of love, embracing both trial and joy.” St.Therese of Lisieux
