Mother of The Year

Casa Teresa Mother of the Year Awards

This week we celebrate many good things, but the one event that stands out for me is the celebration of four women who have balanced motherhood, community involvement and professional endeavors.  They are the women of Casa Teresa.

Both Alum and community members will be honored  this Thursday at a benefit to honor them and raise funds for Casa Teresa.  Casa Teresa is all about saving lives by providing a temporary home and on-going support for pregnant women 18 years of age and older who are alone.  I am proud to see my husband serve on the board to help these women discover life skills and education programs to help prepare them to make living and informed decisions for themselves and their babies. I salute the four women we honor this year and also a special “hats off” to all the women who represent Casa Teresa’s goal of empowering women to be independent and loving mothers to their children.
