Friends #24 A Moment of Silence
Be Still…
This week, as we jumped from one activity to another, my son went to go sit down and put his cleats on for baseball practice…and in the busyness of 4 kids passing in and out of the garage door, grabbing shoes, snacks and jackets…He didn’t realize that the shoe storage seat had been left open….so he fell in.
I saw the whole thing go down-so I waited from afar for the screaming, crying, blaming to begin….but there was nothing. He just sat there for a while…Silent.
I calmly walked up to him. He just looked up at me, smiled and said “I like my new seat!”
We lost a friend this past week. My heart aches…for the loss-the family, the children, the loved ones, the friends. He was taken too soon. We pray hard.
Through it all, it was my son who made me stop and…BE STILL. When you get that moment, try to recognize it. When you are able to just “be” and “pray”…a beautiful thing happens. I know our friend is in a better place “a new seat“ and smiling down on us all. His light will forever shine.
