Love #23 Oscars winners list: ‘The Artist,’ Jean Dujardin, and Meryl Streep take home top awards

84th Academy Awards Winners

Another fun night at the Movies.  Yes, all the guests arrived on the red carpet wearing only the best fashions. Cinderella was the first to arrive with her date, a Harlem Globe Trotter.

Then came Superman and Wonder Woman.

There were interviews.  The sparkling microphone was a hit with the celebs.

The guests rushed the door as the awards were about to start.

Sunday night at the 84th Academy Awards was a blast. The Artist, was the big winner with a total of five Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Directing. Jean Dujardin, won Best Actor.  We had our own best actor award.

Meryl Streep accepted her first Oscar in 29 years — and her third overall — for playing former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in The Iron Lady.  Our eldest daughter accepted Best Costume Design as she dressed all the stars for the evening.

At the age of 82, Christopher Plummer became the oldest person to receive an acting Oscar by winning Best Supporting Actor for Beginners. Here is the youngest receiving hers…

Dinner was enjoyed by all- a mashed potatoe bar. The Dessert Bar was filled with homemade ice cream sandwiches, red vines and popcorn and warmed raisin bread pudding served in martini glasses with ice cream.  Maybe we should have served Chocolate Cream Pie?  An emotional Octavia Spencer picked up the Best Supporting Actress trophy for The Help.

So who won the Ballot award?

The Winner of the night was Grammy Jackson.  She dominated the picks for winners in each category.

In her speech she thanked the Academy and her family for all their support.  They rushed the stage with joy.
