Hats off to our Veterans

God Bless Us All

Veterans Day is an annual holiday in America honoring the 24.9 million military veterans in the United States.  Flags will fly throughout the weekend in their honor.

When our first born turned one,  we wanted to do something special to thank the Marine Corps for their service.  The “Toys for Tots” program was introduced.  The primary goal for our birthday celebration was to have our guests bring a toy (in lieu of a gift for Grace) to be later donated to Toys for Tots.  Bringing a message of hope to less fortunate youngsters.

We planned a Big “Giggles with Grace” Celebration with lots of goodies

A Candy Bar…

A Cookie Bar…

A Gift Bag Bar for all the lil ones to take something special home…

Even the “Giggles with Grace” cake made by Grammy was a hit…

But the best gift of all was the 4 boxes of toys we filled for Toys For Tots.

That same night was the community tree lighting ceremony where the Marines would be collecting toys…so we surprised them.

Lots of Toys to unload out of our car…

A new friend was made “Sergeant Navarro”.

But the kicker in all of this was yet to come…

The day was memorable, the night was beautiful. We said our goodbyes and finished our last cups of cocoa.   We headed back to our car and I noticed something attached to the cars left view mirror, but could not make it out.

As we got closer, Sgt Navarros way of saying “thank you”… left for Grace

One good deed leads to another…and a 7 year old will never forget.
