Holiday #8 Peace, Joy & Savings

OPEN! OPEN! OPEN!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year….

It’s almost midnight!  Yes, I am one of those shoppers that get a thrill out of standing in line at 4am!  I seek out the best deal possible… as I am a giver!  And the more I can give, the better!

Actually the deals started early this week, as early as this past Monday.  You could have also just gone online and captured the great savings as well.  But not us, this was the year I was initiating my niece and nephew into the world of extreme shopping.

We hit lines early this year as some stores opened up at 10pm wih their doorbuster deals.

The lines were a bit crazier then others, but the excitement grew more intense with each added person.  Even though it wrapped around the store twice.

Printers for $30! They could not believe it.

We filled our carts with DVD’s for $1.98, Wii games for $11 and flannel holiday bed sets for $13.  Braden found a hoop set for $19 and Lila scored her Babycakes donut maker for $19…a success!

Overall the kids were amazing and did not complain once.  Just absorbing the moment of crazy people trying to create a wonderful holiday for their loved ones…and of course themselves!

As an Aunt I am proud to say that I shared a very memorable night with the kids….a lesson in savings, an adventure in crazy and a first time experience never to forget.

I know I had an impact, when on our way home at 2:30am, my nephew wanted to hit just one more store…but Auntie Lori said we were not waiting 2.5 hours or it to open at  5AM.
