Christmas Friends

Friends #9 Love thy Neighbor

Over the past 12 years, we have been blessed to live in a community where we enjoy friendships with our neighbors. We have celebrated both happy and sad times, all growing and raising our children together.  It seems appropriate that during the holidays, we share a card or gift as a token of our appreciation and love.

In my opinion, the homemade treats that arrive in carefully wrapped boxes are always my favorite.  My husband makes a mean fudge and my Aunt Bettys One Eyed Susans are always requested at the neighborhood cookie exchanges.

My Aunt Kathy use to make homeade jam….just saw Aunt Kathys jam jars in parents freezer dated 2009.  I wish I would have taken the time during the holidays to bake with her before she passed.

This is one thing I recommend for everyone this season….take the time with someone you know that inspires you in the kitchen.  What a gift they can give you this holiday.

Here are are some other food delights to give…

This year we will gift a few of these pancake molds from William Sonoma. We deliver today, November 30th so families could kick off the first day of December with a holiday pancake breakfast treat! They can enjoy all season long!  Adorable North Pole Pancake recipe is included!

Kate’s godmother Chiara surprised our family with this Popcorn Treat for the holidays. Popcorn Popper was a big hit with the kids AND adults!

Loved how she included a handwritten recipe for a popcorn surprise.

Wrapped around the box was a shaved chocolate grater from Microplane.   I love this particular grater as it has lil gingerbread guys as the shavers versus a round circle…too cute!  I love her attention to detail.

The popcorn bags added just the right touch and brought the gift all together!

I will keep the gift ideas rolling throughout the month, please share with me some of your favorite neighborly treats…even if it is a fruitcake!
